How fixing works
1 · We check every reference
Corroba looks up each entry from your AI bibliography in real databases (Crossref, OpenAlex, PubMed) and flags the ones that don't check out — hallucinated, mismatched, or broken.
2 · Find a real source
For anything it can't confirm, one tap searches for genuine papers on the same topic, ranked by relevance and source quality — each shown with a peer-reviewed / preprint / web badge.
3 · Swap it in
“Use this” adds the verified source to your bibliography, formatted in your citation style. You choose the replacement — Corroba never rewrites your citation for you.

- Can Corroba fix my ChatGPT bibliography?
- Yes. Paste the reference list into the box above and Corroba checks each entry against real databases. For any it can't confirm exists, you get a “Find a real source” button that suggests real, verified, quality-graded papers on the same topic — which you can add to your bibliography in one click, formatted in your style.
- How do I replace a fake AI citation?
- When a reference comes back as “not found”, tap “Find a real source on this topic”. Corroba searches Crossref and OpenAlex for genuine papers on the same subject, ranks them by relevance and source quality, and shows the best few. Pick one and it's added to your bibliography.
- Will Corroba just invent a replacement source?
- Never. Every suggested source is a real record pulled from a live scholarly index — never generated. If we can't find a genuine source on the topic, we tell you so rather than inventing filler. You always choose the replacement; nothing is swapped automatically.
- Does it pick peer-reviewed sources?
- Where they exist, yes. Suggestions are ranked by relevance first, then by source quality, so an on-topic peer-reviewed paper is offered ahead of a preprint or a non-scholarly page. A retracted work is never suggested.
- Is it free?
- Yes — up to 25 references per run, no sign-up. Checking and single replacements are free; Corroba makes money on power features later, never on the core check.
