What it flags
Copied
A passage that closely matches a cited source but isn't quoted — the classic patchwriting slip.
Wrong source
Wording that matches a different source than the one the sentence cites — a classic AI-generated-citation error.
Unsupported
A claim that cites a source whose full text doesn't actually support it — worth a second look.
Overlaps
Wording that follows a source too closely. Quote the borrowed phrasing, or rewrite it in your own words.
Quoted
A direct quote that matches its source — confirmed as properly attributed, so you can trust the wording.
What it deliberately doesn't do
Being honest about coverage is the whole brand. Here's where the line is:
Uncited & web sources
It won't catch copying from sources you didn't cite, the open web, or other students' papers — that's what a full plagiarism service is for.
It never accuses
A private self-check for honest writers — not an AI-writing detector. Those are unreliable and produce false accusations, so we don't do it.

Questions
- Is this a plagiarism checker?
- Not in the Turnitin sense. Corroba Integrity checks whether your writing is faithful to the sources you actually cited — it compares your draft only against those sources, not the whole web or a corpus of student papers. It's the honest, buildable version: catch patchwriting and unquoted copying from your own references. For a comprehensive scan against the internet, use a dedicated plagiarism service.
- Is it free?
- Yes — you can check a draft against up to 25 cited sources per run, free, with no sign-up.
- Does it use AI to judge my writing?
- No. Findings come from deterministic, verbatim word-overlap against your sources' real text — no AI, no guessing. That's also why it never claims to detect AI-written text: those detectors are unreliable and unfairly flag honest students.
- Do you store my draft?
- No. Your draft is checked and discarded — it is never saved, and never added to any corpus or comparison database. The privacy of your writing is the whole point.
- Which sources can it actually check?
- Any cited source with an open-access version — arXiv papers (full text), open-access journals, and most works with a public abstract. If a source is paywalled with no open copy, we tell you we could only see the abstract (or nothing), rather than give you a false all-clear.
